[cheering] [plucking guitar] Hello, London.
[cheering] This is, of course, mind-blowing for me.
Um... MAN: Welcome home, Peter!
PETER: Well, thank you, thank you very much.
It's nice to be home.
Um, my first gig here was 1902.
[laughter] [Peter chuckles] I smell a bit now, but apart from that... [chuckles] So, yeah, so, uh, this, this first, this track here is, um, off, off an album called Frampton's Camel... [cheering] ...and, uh... when I had a camel.
And, and, um, the, the-- We had lost our drummer, um, um, just gone on to do other things, and, uh, so we got to New York, and I called Eddie Kramer up and said, uh, um, we need a drummer.
Ours has exploded.
So, um, he gave me three numbers.
Um, he said these are all really top session drummers in, in New York.
And the first one didn't answer, the second one didn't answer, and the third one was John Siomos, who did answer the phone... [applause] Yes, let's hear it for John.
[applause and cheering] Yeah.
This is a kind of tribute to John and another member that were with us, were with my band for many, many years.
And, uh, so, anyway, um, it's a good thing that he answered that one, that first time, 'cause he never answered the phone again.
I could never get hold of him.
So, um... And he turned up to Electric Lady Studios in, um, in New York, and with this really ropy-looking kit, and I thought, "Oh, dear, this doesn't look good."
So, well, the first number he played was this number we're gonna do, and it just, he blew me away with, with, um, his creativity, and, um, uh, that, that was it.
And, um, so, I said to him, uh, "Would you like to join the band?"
And he said, um, "Yes."
And I said, "Well, that's good."
I said, "But if you join the band, I'm going to buy you a new drum kit, okay?"
'Cause I don't want to be seen dead with that one.
[chuckles] So... [chuckles] So, so he, I said, "What sort of drum kit did you want?"
And he said, "Well, I wanted a big green one like Bonzo," you know.
And so I said, "I shall call Ludwig right now."
So I got one, a green one for him, and a white one for me, 'cause I dabbled, and, um, and, uh, there, there we go.
So, um, but the, uh... John Siomos, um, left the band, um, a few years, uh, afterwards, and, uh, um, I, I had a crew member come to me and say, "I think I've just found John's kit on eBay."
[laughter] So I said, "You're kidding me."
He said, "No, no, here it is."
There it was, "NAL, Nuage Artists Limited," my, my company name at the time.
And I said, "This is amazing."
I said, um, "I have to buy it for a second time?"
[laughter] The only thing was it was much more expensive the second time.
[laughter] I have no idea why this is.
Anyway, um, well, the beauty of getting them back is they got a little refurbished, and the green kit is sitting right over there.
[applause and cheering] So, that's on Comes Alive, it's on, oh, so much stuff.
Dan Wojciechowski is playing our drum, the drums tonight.
[cheering and applause] And he does... he does John.
[laughs] So, and he would be so thrilled.
Anyway, um, so the other, the other gentleman, um, uh, who left us far too soon and is a major part of this band and the live record is, is a gentleman called Bob Mayo.
Bob Mayo on keyboards.
[cheering and applause] And he was really, he was really a brother to me, and, uh, we miss him, um, but I'm gonna dedicate this number to both of them tonight, um, 'cause we wish they were here, and let's see what we can do.

[cheering and applause] [laughs] [cheering and applause] Okay, um, so, uh, in 1974, uh, I had about three weeks to write an album, which was how it was in those days, 'cause you had to do two of them every year.
And, um, so I asked Steve Marriott if I could borrow his cottage on the beach in the Bahamas, and, uh, uh, he said yes, and so I went and took an acoustic and an electric, and that was it.
But at the airport, um, I met a friend who then, unfortunately, um, kept me up for two weeks, uh, partying, so that was not really in the cards.
I was supposed to be writing.
So, on the...
I had eight days left, and I thought, well, um, I better get going here, so I picked up my acoustic and, um, messed around with some chords, and I wrote the verse-- the intro, the verse, and the chorus of "Show Me the Way."
[cheering, clapping] And, yeah, it's not, not a bad start to the day, was it?
And so this was the second song I wrote in that same day.
I have been trying to work out what the hell I had for breakfast ever since.
