This is a first for us having chickens at the aquarium.

I'm Natalie Remer, and I am the curator of terrestrial animals here at Great Lakes of.

Great.

So today we are doing a little introduction on our newest residents here at the aquarium.

We have some chicken breeds here that we are, currently caring for.

We have seven different individuals, and we are hoping to keep two individuals for our animal outreach collection.

Here at the aquarium.

We have an educational, animal ambassador team.

They will visit camps and classrooms.

We also will be able to take them off site for different programing and just being able to touch a live animal is just such a huge deal for kids and adults alike, just to be able to make that connection.

And that's what we're trying to do here, is inspire that conservation idea and that conservation efforts in the future.

And basically, these animals here are just a vehicle for an educational message for us.

And it's really difficult to take a fish to a classroom.

Right.
